Frederick Emanuel Shane (1906 - 1992) was active/lived in Missouri, Kansas.  Frederick Shane is known for Genre paintings, landscape, graphics, murals, lithographs, drawings, teaching.

Frederick E. Shane was a noted Missouri regionalist artist and member of the faculty of the Department of Art at the University of Missouri-Columbia (ca 1932-1971).  His personal papers are in the archives of the University of Missouri, and these documents relate to such topics as the exhibit and sale of his paintings, his work for the United States Army during World War II, the design and painting of a mural for the Post Office in Eldon, Missouri, information concerning the Department of Art during Shanes tenure as Chairman, records relating to the publication of a book of his paintings, and biographical and financial documents.

Among Shane's collected correspondence are letters to and from such notable individuals as Shaemas O'Sheel, Irving Stone, Thomas Hart Benton, Randall Davey, Adolph Dehn, Archie Musick, and Mort Walker.
